S3 (Simple Storage Service and Glacier)

  1. Storage over the internet is called as Cloud storage or Object Storage
  2. Every file on the cloud storage is called an Object
  3. It is a model in which data is maintened,manage backed up remotely and made available to user over the network
  4. Cloude storage is based on virtualize infracture with accessible interface,elasticity and scalability, multi-tenancy and metered resources
EFS (Elastic File System)
  1. NAS(Network Attached  Storage)
  2. It Uses File -based Protocol for Sharing  folder using NFS for Linux/Unix, SMB/CIFS in Windows
  3. As it is a shared folder it can not be formated
EBS (Elastic Block Storage)
  1. DAS(Directly Attached Storage )
  2. Example-External HDD,PenDrive,CD/DVD
Block Storage
  1. SAN(Storage Area Network)
  2. Dedicated high speed network block data storage,It can be formated
  3. It provide shared pool of storage device to multiple server in the form of Logical Unit Number
Cloud Storage
  1.  Example :Google Drive,One Drive,Dropbox ,S3 and Glacier in AWS
  2. Can not be formated and it is object based
